Sinners not Saints was often used when describing the St Kilda  Football Club .

This success starved club have only secured one premiership flag , in a gritty game against Collingwood in 1966 , that they won by one point .

Their fans are arguably the most loyal of all the AFL teams , as they deliver little on field success and much off field controversy . Love or hate ' em  , they hit spectacular highs and gut wrenching lows eg the 2010 Season , drawn Grand Final , and subsequent defeat in the historic replay .

As a sports commentator describes one of their current players , Lenny Hayes , " he ain't flash but he's got courage " . He could also be talking about the much loved Darrel Baldock , player in the 66 premiership side , later coach , and Saints stalwart all his life .

When will the " Saints come marching in "  ?
